Now let’s talk about WHY you want to QUICKLY TAKE ADVANTAGE of this service. First, your competitors will most likely learn about this as well, either from their own search experiences or their marketing folks. And as with many things, the early bird does in fact get the worm. Portside Marketing, LLC has been working on Google Places / Maps since their inception and understand how to quickly and effectively propel you up to the top of the list.

How does it work?

When you go to Google and type in search key phrases, Google presents you with what is called “natural search results.” This is the type of search you have been accustomed to and looks like this:

Natural Search Results

Search results showing how the LOCAL PLACES now take a front seat to the old regular way.

As you can see, when I typed in “Dentist Flower Mound” the results already targeted Texas. I did not even need to tell it. Also notice the results. The “natural results” don’t show up until about halfway down the page. Natural results are those that are keyed into the “old SEO” techniques. And MORE IMPORTANTLY the top results are geared for the LOCAL PLACES that would interest me, since I am in Flower Mound. Google already knows where I am, hence targets LOCAL BUSINESSES in my area.
