Flower Mound, Texas Website Design
Flower Mound is a town located in North Texas, and is a suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It is located in both Denton and Tarrant counties, northwest of Dallas and northeast of Fort Worth. The town is named after a 12.5 acre mound that is in the center of town. Settlers used the mound for religious camps in the 1840s. However, the area around Flower Mound was not settled permanently until 1961. It did not thrive and grow until the Dallas/Fort Worth International Aiport opened in 1972. The close proximity was key in the population increase. The population has increased quickly since then and as of the 2010 United States Census the population was 64,999.
